Pair of Marly horses, dark brown patinated bronze, second half of the 19th century, high quality bronzes with finely chiselled details. The marble originals and life-size, were commissioned by Louis XV, to the sculptor Guillaume Coustou and made between 1743-45, for the palace of Marly le Roy, near Paris.
Good state of preservation.
